Environmental control is an important aspect in farm structures design. Undesirable environmental conditions may put stress on livestock, human worker in farm building. Environment parameters affect comfort and health of animals and ultimately affects production.
Various environmental parameters thus important are solar radiation, light, moisture, temperature, air movement, air quality, dust, odour, relative humidity, noise and vibration, atmospheric pressure etc.
Specific region/state in the country will influence the environmental parameters at that place. A humid area therefore may need more ventilation for comfort but the buildings in arid region need construction to protect against heat in day and chilling in nighttime.
Agricultural buildings are constructed for altering the existing unfavorable natural environment of the place to provide the comfort to livestock, poultry and crops too (Greenhouse). These buildings are also assumed to maintain the quality of stored grains/seeds if buildings are used for storage purpose.
